East Fife Sports Council is delighted to support Pittenweem Tennis Club with funding. The club has
been busy fundraising through lockdown to build a new fully accessible clubhouse. It is intended to
get back to providing taster sessions across primary schools in the area and being able to co-host an
annual schools’ tournament as soon as possible, and the club also hopes to offer facilities or free
coaching to families in the area who may not be able to afford this. The C-19 Emergency grant will
help the club do this and get back on its feet and to tennis. A Development grant has also been
awarded to support a new project in partnership with Active Schools, where children are identified
in the high school catchment who would fall into the category of physical impairments which would
preclude them from accessing most local tennis clubs, they will be offered access to this club once
the upgrades are complete. The EFSC committee are delighted to support the club get back to tennis
and wish them the very best in their future exciting development plans.
