The East Fife Sports Council exists to support, promote and develop amateur sport at all levels within the East Fife area. Each year we celebrate sports people from our area together with their clubs, coaches and volunteers. The 2024 Awards Ceremony recognises the contribution of these people as well as those helping to support participation in sport and physical activity in our community during the year to 31 December 2023.

The award categories are:

  1. Junior Award (under 15 as at 31.12.2023) – recognising the sporting achievement of an individual in this age group.

  2. Youth Award (age 15–­20 inclusive as at 31.12.2023) – recognising the sporting achievement of an individual in this age group.

  3. Senior Award (age 21 and over as at 31.12.2023) – recognising the sporting achievement of an individual in this age group.

  4. Disabled Athlete of the Year – recognising the sporting achievement of a disabled athlete.

  5. Coach of the Year Award – awarded to an individual who has committed to providing the highest standard of coaching, whether it’s with individuals or teams and at any participation level.

  6. Young Volunteer of the Year Award – acknowledging outstanding volunteer support to a club or extra-curricular activities by an individual in full-time education. As this award is for a volunteer, the nominee must not receive any remuneration for this support.

  7. Services to Schools Award – marking dedication and commitment to supporting or volunteering in school sport by an individual, club, organisation or group.

  8. Club Development Award – awarded to the club that progressed and enhanced its development for the benefit of its members and wider local community.
    Sponsored by Howe of Fife Rotary Club
  9. Team of the Year Award – awarded for the best team achievement. There is no age barrier and the team need not necessarily have achieved a major success, as enthusiasm and consistency will also be considered.

  10. East Fife Services to Sport Award – awarded to an individual, (Administrator, Coach or Official) for their voluntary contribution to local sport over a lengthy period of time. The individual must be associated with a sport, activity or voluntary organisation recognised by Sport Scotland. As this award is for a voluntary contribution, the nominee must not be receiving or have received any remuneration for this contribution.

All nominees must be a member of a club within the EFSC area or reside within the area. Clubs and teams nominated for categories 8 and 9 must represent a club affiliated to EFSC.

Award winners will be chosen by the EFSC Awards Committee whose decision shall be final, they also reserve the right to move nominations between categories at their discretion.
