East Fife Sports Council was delighted to support Newburgh Bowling Club with funding. The club were honoured to have 4 ladies qualify for Bowls Scotland National Finals at Ayr in July this year. Valerie Roberson, Eleanor Gorgon, Kitty Fulton and Joyce Orr started their journey to Ayr in May winning games at Cupar, Buckhaven, Guardbridge and then in District 7 Finals at Strathmiglo. In Ayr, the ladies started off well beating Kilmalcolm on the first day, but sadly their winning streak came to an end the next day against Denny. The ladies all thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially Val, Eleanor & Kitty who had never reached the Finals Stages previously. The ladies team was a great ambassador for Ladybank Bowling Club, in fact they are already looking towards next year. The EFSC wish the club all the very best in its future competitions.
