East Fife Sports Council is delighted to support Elie & Earlsferry Sailing Club with funding. In 2021, the club experienced a “stay-cation” influx of new members across a whole range of ages and backgrounds. Most were new to watersports but were keen to take on new challenges be it dinghy sailing, costal rowing, kayaking or paddle boarding. The club had limited safety equipment, which somewhat curtailed activities in all but the calmest of sea conditions. The funding will equip the club with with mast-head flotation to prevent inversion and aid recovery during dinghy capsize, safety hard hats to prevent head injuries and hand held radios to improve communications between the shore and safety boat. The EFSC committee is delighted to hear that the club is thriving and taking active safety steps, and send the very best for the coming year.
