Soccer AM

East Fife Sports Council was delighted to support the newly formed AM Soccer-Over 35s
with funding. The new soccer club plans to affiliate an over-35s team to provide an
additional opportunity for players over that age to compete in the MAFA (Midlands
Amateur Football Association). The league is governed by the SFA and all players must be signed
for insurance purposes and over the age of 35 with exception of the goalkeeper. Irrelevant of skill,
playing ability, or what actual level of football players are still playing at, players are evenly selected
consisting of a team of 16 including roll on roll off substitutions. The positive relationship
between exercise and psychological health has been proven to provide an opportunity to
promote physical and emotional wellbeing. The team is currently providing a platform to
play over 23 players who are based in Cupar, Fife. The funding will be used by the club to
buy nets, goals and a first aid kit. The EFSC committee look forward to seeing more of this
project and wish the club all the very best with its plans and development.
