Scottish Club Sport Services to Sport Award
We are delighted to announce that Rona McCraw received the Services to Sport Award from Scottish Club Sport this weekend at its annual conference in Stirling. Rona is a well-known, committed and dedicated volunteer in East Fife, as well as her decades-long involvement with EFSC, from which she recently stepped back as Chair, she gives her time on many local committees from squash and bowls to the Scouts. She was instrumental in the development of Child Protection in Sport training, and thinks continuously about how sport can adapt and link to other parts of the community. She is an excellent communicator and voice for grassroots and community sport and passionately fights for the sports facilities in our area, which have recently lost opening hours. Rona is also a fantastic mentor, passing her experience and wide knowledge of sport to those she works with and supports; she looks widely to learn more about all sports and how she can be of help where it is needed. Recently she has become an active supporter of Sporting Memories, an excellent initiative supporting older people and especially those suffering from dementia. We send our warmest congratulations to Rona for a truly well-deserved award.
